Free events in NYC for every day of the week (end of Summer/start of Fall list)

Let’s state the obvious: NYC isn’t cheap. It’s a city where a studio the size of an ordinary walk-in closet will run you $2,000, where one routinely drops $15 on a glass of average wine, and where most people spend $20+ on lunch every day (though it’s possible to feed yourself for a full day for the same price).

In the city that drains your wallet at every step, I was surprised to learn that entertainment in New York City can be basically free. You can literally do something interesting every day of the week and not pay a dime.

To prove my point, I found a random sampling of events for the rest of the Summer & early Fall. Most of the events are heavily skewed for fitness and music/food, which is my preferred jam. But I guarantee that you will find a free event YOU like too – just check out theskint.com and of course, Eventbrite.com (with the filter “free” in search).

Me doing yoga in Times Square – an annual free event during the summer solstice.

Summing up: Get out there! Budget or no budget.

I try to do something interesting after work every day. After all, this is one of the greatest benefits of living in New York – the plethora of events for every taste. Here, everyone can find something they love and when it comes to entertainment, the fun can be free!

And you know what they say – the best things in life are… 😉
